On March 31st, over 2,500 runners of the Philly Love Half-Marathon and 7K participated in the Philly Runs Free program and raised over $128,000 to support cancer patients and their families as part of Legacy of Hope’s mission to see that no family faces financial hardship while a loved one battles cancer. Legacy of Hope, in partnership with Live Life Nice and CGI Racing, delivered a serious blow to the financial distress that comes with a cancer diagnosis.
The Philly Runs Free program allowed registered participants of the half-marathon and 7K races the opportunity to fund raise on behalf of Legacy of Hope with a $200 goal. When this goal was reached, the runner would have their racing fees refunded and get to enjoy the race for free! In the spirit of “brotherly love”, the city of Philadelphia and surrounding areas responded with overwhelming support and participation.
YET AGAIN, PHILADELPHIA AND ITS NEIGHBORS TRULY PROVED THAT WE ARE A COMMUNITY UNITED AGAINST ALL FORMS OF CANCER.
